Daniel
Durning is a NYC born artist. His work in sculpture, animation and interactive media is exhibited internationally and
at many local venues.
As a Producer he has developed projects that includes the development of a radio program Art and
Technology, Discussions with Visual and Sound Artists produced as an online radio arts interview program
streaming online over Clocktower.org internet radio station originally developed for the MOMA's affiliate WPS1.org.
He also developed and organized the Red Hook Film and Video Festival with its premiere screening in 2006 in Red Hook Brooklyn currently in its 10th year.
In the field
of digital production he is a professionally as a Web Developer & 3D animator working professionally since the early 90's.
His company Fantastic Image LLC produces web projects and consults on online advertising for many clients.
He is an Full Adjunct Professor of computer graphics and new media. Currently teaches at CUNY, NY TECH, Long Island Univesity in Brooklyn. He has been part of many faculties at various colleges in the NYC area including School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, Stevens Institute in Hoboken and Hostra University. While at NYIT he taught as a Visiting Professor, New York Institute of Technology, Middle East Programs, Bahrain Campus, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Since 1998 he
has been a member of the Board of Directors
of NYC ACM SIGGRAPH; the leading computer graphics organization
serving the community of graphics and animation professionals in
the New York City. Also served as Subcommittee Member, ACM SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater, in both 2000 & 2004 in Los Angeles.
In
2003 he created the NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival aka. MetroCAF the Annual juried Computer Animation competition open to all NYC Area College Students.
He was Festival Chair of MetroCAF for the first few years and MetroCAF has gone on to a 10 year run with NYC ACM SIGGRAPH.
